For Families

If you are walking through this right now — we're here.

Maiya's Heart Project exists because no family should have to navigate organ donation, transplantation, life-threatening illness, or loss alone. Tell us where you are. We will listen first and respond personally — usually within a few days.

If this is a medical emergency

Please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For mental health crisis support in the U.S., call or text 988. Maiya's Heart Project is not a medical, legal, or crisis response service — we are a family support and advocacy organization that walks beside you over time.

What we can help with

  • · Connecting you with hospital and transplant resources
  • · Hospice navigation and end-of-life questions
  • · Practical help: housing, transportation, caregiver logistics
  • · Grief and bereavement support after loss
  • · Sharing your story when you're ready
  • · Faith-rooted listening from people who've walked this

What to expect

  • · A real person reads every message
  • · We respond within ~3–5 days
  • · Everything you share is confidential
  • · No pressure to give, share publicly, or do anything
  • · We'll be honest about what we can and can't do today
  • · We're in our founding phase — building as we go
